A future with a heritage

In 1908, Johann Sidler opened a mechanical workshop in Eschenbach. Originally, it specialized in agricultural machinery, tractors, cars and electrical installations. Today, more than 100 years and three family generations later, it has turned into a leading production company for shut-off valves.

The focus on valves began back in the 1950s, when the first experiments with knife gate valves for the paper industry were carried out together with Swiss engineer Joseph Wey. The unique knife gate valve design developed in the process still characterizes our knife gate valves today and has given our products their name ever since: Wey.

We have achieved a lot in the last 60 years: from a small machine factory with 35 employees, we have grown into a globally active company with 180 employees. Additional locations in the USA, Germany and Singapore have been added, as well as a network of more than 100 sales partners who distribute Wey valves all over the world. The next major milestone is already on the horizon in 2025: We are opening a new production site in Germany, which is currently being built in Ettlingen.

Despite all these changes, we can still rely on the roots that were laid down at the very beginning of Sistag: Our Swiss origins, our constant striving for perfection and our passion for accepting and mastering every new task as a personal challenge.
