Large valves for wastewater treatment
The project in Poland was a challenge in several respects. The large quantities of wastewater required correspondingly large valves: several knife gate valves with nominal diameters of DN 1400 and 1600 were manufactured at the Swiss Sistag plant.
The collected wastewater is transported to the treatment plant through a specially built tunnel under a river. Any leaks in the pipe or fittings would have fatal consequences: The contaminated water would flow directly into the river and from there be distributed throughout the country.
For the final pressure test at the Sistag plant, our Polish sales partner and a delegation of the end customer were therefore present. All valves passed the test and will be on their way to Poland next week.
